Fabric notes / 01
Linen or poplin?
Two natural fibres, two different ways a garment can feel.

Linen: texture and movement
Linen has a visible weave and a relaxed drape. Its creases are part of its character. In a blazer, it softens a tailored shape; in a dress, it adds movement without losing the line of the garment.
Poplin: a cleaner line
Cotton poplin is a smooth, tightly woven fabric. It gives a shirt enough structure to hold its collar and cuffs, while staying light enough for everyday wear.
Choose a fit you can move in
Measure over light clothing, keeping the tape level. Leave it comfortable rather than pulling it tight. The size chart lists body measurements, rather than the measurements of the finished garment.
A little care
Always follow the garment’s care label. Wash gently, air dry where possible, and press while the fabric is slightly damp. Store tailoring on a broad hanger to support the shoulders.
